Liseberg

Liseberg

Liseberg (2017) a series conceived by Chiara Dynys while she was visiting an amusement park in Sweden.Inspired by her own perceptions, she translates it into artworks, shaping the essence of the place. The Artist’s shots represent a dichotomy between carefreenessand depression. Through the filter of the camera, she represents a suspended atmosphere with disturbing scenarios that carries on a narrative that is not resolved in a positive or negative ending, but only in showing the sense of mystery. These works are designed as small crime films in which certain shapes, made through reflective silvering are superimposed on certain elements of the scene, allowing the outside world and even the viewer to enter the image. In this way the artist inserts an element of disturbance, a nightmare within the nightmare, intervening directly on the scene, an operation that recalls the famous dream sequence of Hitchcock’s film “I’ll Save You”, in which Salvador Dali’s set design, made of drapes on which a multitude of eyes are painted, once ripped open, allows another eye to emerge.
