Camini delle fate

Camini delle fate

Camini delle fate (2021) is a series of sculptures made with stained glassthat look likebrightframes. A rectangular ofdifferent sizes, distributed over the wide leaden surface. They are monads that look at us; colored and luminous perspectives that invest the viewer until the vision ofmysterious and esoteric shapes like the Fairy Chimneys of Cappadocia, perceiving thesebright and hollow places, excavated, inhabited, and frescoed since the eleventh century by anchorites and hermits: real doors of light that look at us and behind which we imagine life. From the rock that guards and hides the color of the frescoes to the darkness of a wall where the colored lights of the glass shine, an evoked, primordial space emerges, which is however overturned within anotherspace, real, experienced by the visitor. These cast glass panes are in different colors and proportions with a 24-carat gold leaf center that marks the hypothetical “luminous” opening of each perspective form. Every piece is illuminated andilluminating with a different refraction of light and color on the environment. The user lives the archetypal concept of the “transit” intended even as death and resurrection, realized by a constellation of mysterious windows that suggest and guide him suggest and guide him. The spectator thus “enters” the work, experiencing the palingenetic power of color and light.
