Bonjour Monsieur Monet

The series Bonjour Monsieur Monet (2017) presents an image inserted within frames characterized by fluid forms, where several scenes merge with different temporal unity, but in an equal spatial unity. Perspective is the central theme of the work, and it perfectly embodies Chiara Dynys’ research. The eyes of the viewers, moving from one side to and other can experience a temporal perspective through the repetition of the same subject in every different positions. The flowers approach and recede or simply cross the image from one side to the other,evoking some of Monet’s last works, where the artist, by now partially blind, painted large canvases.
