Preformal aesthetics, or TTOZOI at the Colosseum

The GENIUS LOCI project invades the field of biological determination in the course of terrestrial life. The paintings speak of natural processes that transform molds into pictorial grammar within the linguistic management of the canvas. A radical way of approaching a painting that anticipates and follows the Anthropocene; a painting that assimilates, by paradox, to the chromatic energies of stars, black holes, soil on distant planets, and cosmic debris that determine the natural surfaces of our Planet.
In this metaphysical resolution the archaeological juncture connects art to its absolute value, that is, condensing a whole preformal aesthetic that is the cell of every future figuration, of every following abstraction, of every eventual informal recomposition. The intersection of form and color generates biologies in which the TTOZOIs manage the ideation and rules of engagement, deciding formats, pastes, and durations but unable to intervene in the life cycle of the mycetes and the organic uniqueness of the individual painting.
The painting of the TTOZOI, so atomized in its fungal biology, could only complement the monumental ruins of lost but well-historicized civilizations. The COLOSSEUM, the archetype of a humanity that built ambitious symbols, destined to defy time and mortal ritual, a place with the weight of divine power and the lightness of holistic dictate, welcomed the last leg of a journey that has already passed through the Reggia di Caserta, the Amphitheater of Pompeii and the Amphitheater of Capua. Inside the Colosseo were born the latest canvases of the GENIUS LOCI project, connected to the multicellular climate that thickens in its humid spaces, daughters of those spores that have crossed millennia and geographies, defying the space and time that envelops life on Earth.
Looking at the paintings together is like witnessing the impulses of a radioactive storm, of an electrolytic process, of an exploding supernova, of a paroxysmal aurora … actions and reactions of a preform that ideally anticipates rock painting and proceeds beyond the time of the Earth’s end, toward that “before” and “after” where the human mind giam never arrives but where painting, a shamanic and alchemical language, arrives with the “creative” ritual of seer.
